Hi! I'm Karlee Job,
certified pediatric sleep consultant
I’m here to help you and your little one get the sleep you both deserve.
Like many parents, I struggled with my son’s sleep. As a first-time mom, I felt lost, exhausted, and unsure of what to do. He would only sleep on my chest or in my arms, needing to be fed, rocked, patted, or bounced to sleep—only to wake up crying every 45 minutes. It took a toll on my entire family and deeply impacted my mental health.
Desperate for a solution, I reached out to a local sleep coach. Within weeks, we were sleeping through the night and finally enjoying a happier, more restful life. That experience changed everything for me. I knew I wanted to help other parents avoid the same struggles.
After years of supporting friends and their babies, I became a certified pediatric sleep consultant to provide families with the guidance, tools, and confidence to achieve better sleep. My goal is to help you navigate this journey with knowledge and support, so you and your little one can rest peacefully.
Thank you for visiting KJ Babies—welcome!
Wishing you happy and restful nights!
understanding your baby's sleep
Sleep is crucial for infants and toddlers because it directly affects their growth, brain development, and overall health. Here are some key reasons why sleep is essential during early childhood:
1. Brain Development – Sleep supports cognitive function, memory consolidation, and learning. During deep sleep, the brain processes new experiences and strengthens neural connections.
2. Physical Growth – Growth hormone is primarily released during sleep, helping infants and toddlers grow and develop properly.
3. Emotional Regulation – Well-rested children are better able to manage their emotions, reducing tantrums and irritability. Sleep deprivation can lead to mood swings and difficulty coping with stress.

4. Immune System Support – Sleep helps strengthen the immune system, making children more resistant to illnesses.
5. Motor Skills and Coordination – Sleep is essential for developing motor skills, balance, and coordination, which are critical for milestones like crawling, walking, and fine motor control.
6. Healthy Weight and Metabolism – Poor sleep habits in early childhood have been linked to a higher risk of obesity due to disruptions in appetite-regulating hormones.
7. Better Behaviour and Attention – Sleep-deprived toddlers may struggle with focus, hyperactivity, and impulse control, sometimes mimicking symptoms of ADHD.
Ensuring consistent sleep schedules, a calming bedtime routine, and a safe sleep environment can help infants and toddlers get the rest they need for optimal development.
